How to clear browser temporary Cache files and Cookies?

What is cache and why should I clear it?


The cache is a folder that stores information about visited internet pages. This was originally used by internet browsers to help them load information on web pages faster. However, web sites may not be displayed correctly because the browser has made changes and continues to use outdated data from the cache. Therefore, it is recommended to clear the cache in your internet browser from time to time.


To clear your cache, select your internet browser and follow the instructions below:


Google Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, select ‘More’ and then ‘Delete browsing data’.

  3. At the top, next to ‘Time range’, select the dropdown.

  4. Choose a time period, such as the last hour or the last day.

  5. Check ‘Cookies and other site data.

  6. Uncheck all the other items.

  7. Select ‘Delete data’.


Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and select 'Settings'.

  2. Select the 'Privacy & Security' panel.

  3. In the 'Cookies and Site Data' section, click 'Clear Data'.

  4. Remove the check mark in front of 'Cookies and Site Data'.

  5. With 'Cached Web Content' check marked, click the 'Clear' button.


Yandex Browser

  1. Click Advanced → Clear History.

  2. Select the time range for which you want to delete cached data.

  3. Select the ‘Cache Files’ option.

  4. Disable all other options (if you only want to clear your browser cache).

  5. Click ‘Clear’.


Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and select Menu (3 dots icon in the upper right corner of the browser) > Settings > Privacy and Services.

  2. Under Clear browsing data, select ‘Choose what to clear’.

  3. Select the ‘Cached images and files’ and Cookies and other site data’ check boxes and select ‘Clear’.


Opera Browser

  1. Open Opera browser.

  2. Click ‘Settings’.

  3. Scroll down to the "Privacy and Security" section.

  4. Click to open the ‘Clear browsing data’ option.

  5. Tick the ‘Browsing history’, ‘Cookies’, ‘Other site data’, and ‘Cached images and files’ checkboxes.


Safari

  1. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.

  2. Select the time range of the browsing history you wish to clear.
