How to install/add EA in MetaTrader?

To add an EA (Expert Advisor) to MetaTrader, you need to follow next steps:

1. Download EA file

Make sure you have obtained the EA file, usually in .ex4 (MT4) format.

2. Add EA files to the platform

1. Open MetaTrader: open the MT4 platform on your device.

2. Open the data folder:

   • In the platform, click File > Open Data Folder.

3. Find the Expert Advisors folder:

   • Go to the 'MQL4' folder (for MT4). 

   • Find and open the ‘Expert Advisors’ folder.

4. Copy EA File：copy the downloaded EA file into the ‘Experts’ folder.

3. Close and reopen MT4

• Reopen the platform, right-click on ‘Expert Advisors’ in the ‘Navigator’ window and select ‘Refresh’. Now you can see the newly added EA.

4. Drag the EA into the chart

1. Select a chart：open a chart to which you want to apply the EA.

2. Drag and Drop EA：find your EA in the ‘Navigator’ window and drag it into the chart, or right-click on the EA and select ‘Attach to Chart’.

5. Set EA’s parameters

• In the pop-up window, you can set the EA's parameters and input values. When finished, click ‘OK’.

6. Enable automatic trading

• Make sure the green ‘Auto Trading’ button on the platform is enabled.

7. Monitor EA performance

• Watch the ‘Experts’ tab in the ‘Terminal’ window to view the EA's operating status and log information.
