How to enable alerts in MetaTrader?


To enable alert notifications (MT4), you need to follow these simple steps:

  1. Open a ‘Terminal’ window

    • Click View > Terminal, or use the shortcut Ctrl + T.

  2. Switch to the ‘Alerts’ tab

    • In the ‘Terminal’ window, select the ‘Alerts’ tab.

  3. Add alert

    • Right-click in the Alert area and select ‘Create’.

  1. Set alert’s parameters

    • In the pop-up window, set the following:

      1. name:enter a name for the alert.

      2. condition:select the alert condition (for example, when a price reaches a certain level).

      3. time:set the time of the alert (for example, whether the alert should be repeated).

      4. sound:choose a sound for the alert.

       5. Save your settings

  • Click ‘OK’ to save your settings.


How to enable push notifications in MetaTrader?


  1. Open option settings

    • Click Tools > Options, or use the shortcut Ctrl + O.

  2. Switch to the ‘Notifications’ tab

    • In the ‘Options’ window, select the ‘Notifications’ tab.

  3. Enable Push Notifications

    • Tick ‘Enable Push Notifications’.

    • Enter your MetaQuotes ID (can be found in the ‘Account’ section of MetaTrader).

    • You can check your MetaQuotes ID in MT4 mobile application > Settings.


  1. Test Notification

    • Click the ‘Test’ button to check whether the Push Notification is set up successfully.
