Logging into the trading platform — FAQ

Modified on Tue, 3 Dec, 2024 at 8:45 PM

If you are unable to log in to the trading terminal, this is usually due to a wrong account number or password, or problems with the network connection. Here is a detailed description of possible solutions to resolve an issue.

Login information

When logging in to the MT4 trading terminal, you need to enter the following information:

  • Trading account number

  • Trading account password

  • Server address

If any of these points is incorrect, you will receive an ‘Authorisation Failed’ or ‘Invalid Account’ error. If you are unable to find your login details, please follow this link to log in to your ForexClub account and go to the ‘Accounts Overview’ section to retrieve your login details.

You can also retrieve your login password by checking the confirmation email that was sent automatically when you created your account.

Please ensure that you are logging into MT4 with an MT4 account, otherwise you will not be able to log in.

Network Connection Check

If you have confirmed that the information you have entered is correct and you are still unable to log in, the problem may be with your internet connection.

‘No Network Connection’ issues

There are various reasons for this problem, here are some solutions:

  1. Check network stability:

    • Check your network speed with a speed test tool.

    • Check whether the network cable connection is stable.

    • Try restarting your modem or router by turning it off for at least 5 seconds and then back on.

    • Click the connection status in the lower right corner of the trading terminal and select ‘Rescan Server’.

    • Make sure firewalls and anti-virus software are not blocking the endpoint from connecting to the Internet.

In order to solve the problem of the firewall blocking the terminal's connection, perform the following actions:

  • Add MT4 to the trust list of your firewall and antivirus software.

  • Temporarily disable the firewall and then try to log in again.

Common Errors

Sometimes login issues can be caused by a server failure. In such cases, the system usually recovers itself. It is better to wait a few moments before trying to log back in. If the difficulty persists, try the following steps:

  • Restart the trading terminal.

  • Reinstall the trading terminal application.
